1. Overview

Kozu is a personal cosmetics tracking app. This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding your information.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data You Provide

The following data is stored locally on your device and, if you enable iCloud, synced to your iCloud account:

  • Product information (name, brand, category, price, purchase date, expiration date)
  • Product photos you add
  • App preferences (language, currency, theme)

This data is never sent to our servers. It belongs entirely to you.

2.2 Analytics Data (Firebase Analytics)

We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to understand how the app is used. This includes:

  • App events (e.g. product added, screen viewed)
  • Device type and operating system version
  • App version
  • Crash reports

This data is anonymous — it cannot be used to identify you personally. No names, emails, or product content are collected.

2.3 Subscription & Purchase Data (RevenueCat)

We use RevenueCat, a subscription management platform, to process and manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. When you make a purchase, your App Store transaction receipt and an anonymous identifier are shared with RevenueCat to verify your purchase and manage your subscription status.

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or payment details — these are handled directly by Apple.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information
  • We do not sell your data to third parties
  • We do not share your personal data with advertisers
  • We do not store your product data on our servers

4. iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your Kozu data (products, photos, preferences) may be synced across your Apple devices via iCloud. This sync is managed entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

5. Camera & Photo Library

Kozu requests access to your camera and photo library solely to let you add photos to your products. Photos are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to any external server.

6. Notifications

Kozu may send you local notifications to remind you about expiring products. These notifications are generated on your device and do not involve any external servers.

7. Children's Privacy

Kozu is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are located in the European Union or California, you have the right to:

  • Access — know what data is collected about you
  • Delete — request deletion of your data
  • Opt out — disable Firebase Analytics via your device's privacy settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking)

Since your product data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing the app.

To disable analytics tracking: go to your device Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and disable tracking for Kozu.

9. Data Retention

  • Local data — retained until you delete the app
  • Analytics data — retained by Firebase for up to 14 months per Google's default policy

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
